FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Goodwill Reaches 100,000 Donations for the Holiday Season

Honolulu, HI (February 3, 2015) — Goodwill Industries of Hawaii would like to thank the public for helping the organization reach its goal of 100,000 donations for the holiday season. The local nonprofit exceeded its goal with a total of 100,208 donations to help support its job training and job placement programs.

“We are very thankful to the community for helping Goodwill Industries of Hawaii reach a record setting month in donations,” stated Laura Smith, President/CEO of Goodwill. “The donations we have received this holiday season will help change many lives through our job training and job placement programs.”

When donations are received at one of Goodwill’s 25 convenient locations, they are sold at Goodwill stores in Hawaii. Revenues from the sale of those donations directly support Goodwill’s statewide job training and job placement programs. In the past year alone, Goodwill placed over 1,700 individuals in meaningful jobs and served over 13,000 individuals.
