GOODWILL HAWAII TO CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY AT ANNUAL GOODWILL GOES GLAM! PRESENTED BY BANK OF HAWAII FOUNDATION, JULY 18-21

Honolulu, Hawaii – Goodwill Hawaii will commemorate its 60th anniversary when the annual Goodwill Goes GLAM! presented by Bank of Hawaii Foundation returns to the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, July 18-21, 2019. Goodwill Hawaii aims to raise $400,000 over the four-day event to support its job training, counseling and placement programs that help more than 11,000 people statewide annually.

Distinguished local designer Anne Namba has been selected to produce the 2019 GLAM! Fashion Show as part of the opening night Gala on Thursday, July 18. The theme of this year’s show, “Legacy,” is a nod to the milestone anniversaries for Goodwill Hawaii, 60, and Anne Namba Designs, which is celebrating 30 years in business. Namba is well-known for her exquisite and exclusive Kimono Couture styles and has been featured in major department stores and fashion shows worldwide.

“I’m always looking for ways to give back to the community and am excited to be the featured designer and producer of the eighth annual Goodwill Goes GLAM! Fashion Show,” said Anne Namba. “Since Goodwill Hawaii and Anne Namba Designs are both celebrating anniversaries, we thought it would be fun to pair donated pieces from my past collections with Goodwill’s unique finds for a retrospective look back at our contributions to the community.”

Guests attending the gala will be treated to a three-course menu created by Chef Lawrence Nakamoto, executive chef of Mariposa at Neiman Marcus Honolulu. Chef Nakamoto, a Kapiolani Community College culinary arts program graduate with 13 years of restaurant experience, has been instrumental in attracting new local clientele to Mariposa by introducing unique dishes such as the Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Bone Marrow Crust and the Sun-Dried Tomato and Goat Cheese Ravioli.

Following the dinner and formal gala program, attendees will have first access to the GLAM! Sale featuring the best that Goodwill Hawaii has to offer including designer fashions, shoes and handbags, vintage housewares, and one-of-a-kind collectibles curated from donations received by the community. The GLAM! Sale continues through the weekend, July 19-21, with free admission to the public and other special activities and promotions.

Event sponsorships start at $2,500 and include a table of ten at the exclusive Gala among other benefits. Individual gala tickets are also available for $250. Tickets to attend the fashion show only will go on sale in June.
