Refuse Collector (Army Recycling – Schofield)

Job Description Summary:
Provide services necessary to support recycling operations for the U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii consisting of 7 collection sites and operation of a recycling center at Schofield. Duties include operating government vehicles including a 1 ½ ton truck, forklift, baler, and other equipment associated with recycling operation. Strong customer service skills are essential in working with a wide variety of personnel in the collection process. Other duties include processing recycled materials, transport of recycled materials to vendors, processing documentation and statistical reports associated with the activity.

Education/Qualification Requirement:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or work experience; training related to material handling or recycling activities. Knowledge of and experience working with individuals with disabilities is helpful. Valid Hawaii Type 3 Driver’s License and clean traffic abstract are required. Current fork lift certification is required. Must successfully pass a PUC physical, functional capacity exam, frequently lit and/move up to 100 pounds and be at least 21 years of age.
