Independent Living Skills and Other Services for People with Disabilities
Goodwill offers a wide range of diverse programs designed to help people with disabilities, including vision and hearing loss and other cognitive disabilities, become self-reliant and independent in the community. Services range from basic self-care and daily living activities, to job training, coaching on employment sites, and other post-employment support.

Job Readiness and Placement Services
Program teaches a variety of skills training, effective resume writing and interviewing techniques through individual and group training. Program participants learn valuable job search techniques, and have access to a wide variety of resources and employment opportunities. Weekly job club sessions give students a chance to practice their skills and further develop their abilities while preparing to enter the workforce.

Independence from Public Assistance
Career development, training and job placement are provided for individuals and families receiving state assistance. The staff helps people develop vocational and social skills through a combination of occupational skills training, pre-employment training, job coaching and practical work experience. Goodwill works in partnership with community businesses to provide opportunities for individuals to become successfully employed and retain their jobs.

Youth Services
Goodwill’s Ola I Ka Hana program offers free services to at-risk youth, ages 15-21, who are out of school. Each participant works to develop an individualized assessment and service strategy. The strategy addresses educational goals, job skills, and employability. Participants also receive job readiness training sessions to focus on resume development, job search and interviewing skills, job applications and career interests. Youth also have the opportunity to have mentors, or paid internships through this program.
