Goodwill offers acculturation training to immigrants from the Compact of Free Association (COFA) to help them gain the skills and access the resources needed to successfully acclimate to their new environment.

Imi Loa

“to seek knowledge and explore new horizons”
Oahu, Maui County


Participants receive free employment and acculturation training to learn the skills necessary to secure and maintain competitive employment. Imi Loa serves immigrants whose income level is at or below 150% of the federal poverty guideline and are not employed seeking employment or are employed but wanting full-time employment.

Hoʻokele Mua

“moving forward to a new culture and new opportunities”
Kona (Hawaii)


Hoʻokele Mua provides free acculturation training to help immigrant learn skills needed to build a productive and self-sufficient life in a new culture. Additionally, Hoʻokele Mua provides follow-up and support services for four months after the program. This program serves immigrants from the Compact of Free Association (COFA) who are 18 years or older, and is available on the Big Island in Kona.
