CHEF KEAKA LEE

KAPA HALE

Chef Keaka Lee of Kapa Hale, a neighborhood restaurant in Kahala serving fun flavors and creating long lasting stories with the community, kicks off events with a memorable dining experience. Chef Keaka is a local boy and graduate of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Kapiolani Community College. As an up-and-coming chef, he apprenticed under Russell Siu of 3660 On The Rise and Alan Wong and also spent several years in New York working under Michael Anthony at Grammercy Tavern. His restaurant Kapa Hale is inspired by the Hawaiian practice of kapa and how the different patterns and shapes tell a story. He sees a blank white plate as kapa as he lets his imagination play with the locally grown ingredients to tell his stories as a chef.
