New Attended Donation Center in Hilo Opening November 1, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Goodwill Industries of Hawaii is accepting donations of gently used clothing and household items for its new, bigger Goodwill Store in Hilo (opening in November 2009). For convenience, donations can be brought to the brand new Attended Donation Center (ADC), located at 111 E. Puainako Street, across from Walmart in the Prince Kuhio Plaza starting this Sunday, November 1, 2009. ADC attendants are happy to greet you and will provide you with a receipt for your donations during operating hours of 9:30am - 4:00pm on weekdays and 8:30am - 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Donations of items to Goodwill Industries of Hawaii are tax deductable, as allowable by law.

Halloween Costume Ideas from Goodwill

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 7, 2009 - Creating a one-of-a-kind costume that will set you apart at costume parties and trick-or-treating outings this Halloween is easy and inexpensive when you visit your local Goodwill store with your imagination and some costume ‘recipe cards.’

October is a busy month at Goodwill’s eight retail stores across the islands. College students, parents with excited keiki and local hipsters alike flock to Goodwill’s racks of gently used clothing, shoes and accessories to assemble the ‘perfect’ costume. A little imagination and an occasional trip to a craft store make costume creation fun and affordable.

Goodwill Industries of Hawaii introduces Mālama Moe

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 1, 2009 - Goodwill Industries of Hawaii introduces Mālama Moe, a free program for low income residents on the Big Island who want to start their own business. The program is a series of classes that will guide participants to “Take Care of their Dreams.” Orientation for the program is Tuesday, September 15th from 5-7pm at the Goodwill Career Center located at 200 Kanoelehua Avenue, Suite 102 in Hilo. Following orientation, classes will be held every Tuesday in the same location from 5-8pm, running from September 22 through December 15, 2009.
