New Attended Donation Center in Hilo Opening November 1, 2009


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Goodwill Industries of Hawaii is accepting donations of gently used clothing and household items for its new, bigger Goodwill Store in Hilo (opening in November 2009). For convenience, donations can be brought to the brand new Attended Donation Center (ADC), located at 111 E. Puainako Street, across from Walmart in the Prince Kuhio Plaza starting this Sunday, November 1, 2009. ADC attendants are happy to greet you and will provide you with a receipt for your donations during operating hours of 9:30am - 4:00pm on weekdays and 8:30am - 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Donations of items to Goodwill Industries of Hawaii are tax deductable, as allowable by law.
Goodwill prides itself on applying 90 cents of every dollar toward its mission: Assisting people with employment barriers reach their full potential and become self-sufficient. Goodwill provides education, job training, job placement, career development, immigration assistance services and small business development classes for residents on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Donation Dos
  • Wash or dry-clean clothing prior to donating.
  • Test electrical equipment and battery-operated items.
  • Include all pieces and parts to children’s games and toys.

Donation Don’ts
  • Leave items unattended outside a collection center.
  • Donate broken or soiled items.
