Pacific Business News • Thursday, Feburary 5, 2009
Goodwill Industries of Hawaii and the Internal Revenue Service are offering help to low-income residents this tax season.
Goodwill and the IRS will provide Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites, which offer free tax preparation services to low-income workers, people with disabilities and other taxpayers.

“For 50 years, Goodwill Industries of Hawaii has provided millions of people with job training and work opportunities so that they can earn a paycheck and support themselves and their families,” said Laura Robertson, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, in a statement. “It’s only natural that we would also provide access to the tools that help them maximize their income and build their assets.”

Free tax help will be provided for Hawaii residents by appointment only on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island.

Residents can make appointments by calling 284-3549 in Honolulu; 315-0962, in Hilo, on the Big Island; and 264-0280, in Kahului, Maui.
